Stay Safe While Recording
Be situationally aware. Consider your own risk tolerance when recording.
If possible, have someone document your actions from a distance
Don't get too close to officers
If they ask you to back up, capture your feet on camera to document your compliance
Back up your footage or use Quick Mode. Your phone can be taken or damaged.
Disable face/fingerprint unlock for maximum protection.
Know Your Rights
When documenting ICE activity, you have protected rights. Here’s what you should know:
You have the right to record public officials in public spaces.
You do NOT need to answer questions about your identity or immigration status.
You can refuse a search unless ICE has a signed warrant.
Stay calm and do not interfere with ICE operations while recording.
You are not required to delete your videos under any circumstance.

A – Activity (or Actions)
L – Location
U – Uniform (badges, patches)
T – Time
E – Equipment (vehicles, weapons)
